I've been reading this thread, some of you called this ''the worst marketing botch ever'' on day 1. I have friends that barely even follow hockey texting me about him and I live on the west coast in Canada. Gritty has created a buzz for the NHL all over North America. I love him!

We all quickly accepted the reality that he is a giant walking meme. Also helps that he went from "flat out bad" to "so bad it's good" in the span of a couple hours.

My daughter is going on a school trip to Philadelphia in the new year. I would ask her to bring back a Gritty doll but I fear that she wouldn't get through the border.
