Welcome to WWE: SummerSlam, the “second really long show of the year†PPV!
It is "Demon" Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt. That is the current match card
12 matches. Even with moving a couple to the pre show, I think there are some that will get cut very short. Here's to hoping Naomi/Natalya is one of those matches
Meh. It's a four hour show. They'll push it.
It'll probably be about 4 hours...really curious to see how long the main event runs. I have to believe they're not trying to squeeze end of this show in the 11:00 window.
Cena-AJ was 23+ minutes and Finn-Seth went 19+ in last year's show. If it was a Brock 1-on-1...it wouldn't go past 10 minutes. With the other guys in the match, I'm think 15 at the very least. Brock-Cena-Rollins at Rumble '15 went close to 23 minutes.
Usos vs. New Day moved to the pre-show. At least they'll get time.
genuinely surprised by this. fully expected it to be the show opener
It's one of the best built feuds on the card.
I'd have Naomi/Natalya, Neville/Tozawa, and Cass/Big Show on the pre-show. I think Carmella cashes in this Sunday though so they probably want the first ever women's cash-in to happen on the actual PPV.
As I say often, there's is no reason at all for the pre-show to be bad. It should be a good show with good matches to make people want to watch so they can advertise all their stuff at them.
This. If the SD womens match is on the actual show then Carmella cashes in. But those are the 3 matches that should be on the pre-show.
If I recall correctly, they started having some matches at 5 PM last year. Idk how long the preshow is this year but if that's the case again, they'll have plenty of time for all of the matches.
It's a two hour pre-show, then a four hour PPV. They won't have any problems getting the matches in, just a case of which matches go where (and which matches WWE want to kill by having their standard death spots).
I'm pissed off they moved the New Day to the pre show. It must be the Uso's effect.
Dang, thought that match would have been safe with New Day in it. Their too over (still) to be on the pre-show
I still can't believe jinder ****ing mahal is on the cover of a summerslam and AJ Styles is not. The same AJ styles who was buried in a back row for the rumble poster which if i remember correctly, he was WWE champion for.
Trin and Nattie were featured on the poster, so they were never on the pre-show.
They've pushed Carmella's cash-in too much for her to do it, and they can't have the first cash-in be failed. And they can't have Ellsworth interfere.
Looking forward to being there again this year.
Naomi vs Nattie is going to be an awful match.
On every level. Meanwhile Becky and Charlotte aren't even on the show. The SD women are a mess
Charolette wouldn't even be on the show if she was challenging for the title, so thats irrelevant. You can't just keep giving the same people title shots, eventually you gotta reward other people or long time employees who put up with your **** storylines.
No you don't, you make the biggest match that you can make. The SD Women is obviously Total Divas-driven.
Agreed, specially since its a big 4 PPV as well. Also Charlotte nor Becky have been have title shots in a while since that stupid Welcoming Committee storyline. The Naomi/Charlotte story never wrapped up.
Instead we get a very boring match no one cares about
It's a WWE PPV, so you need to have that kind of match to fill in their designated 'death slots'. So no one caring is partly design.
People want to claim there are other talents worth pushing, but it still isn't true outside of Bliss and eventually Asuka.
Right now the biggest talents and biggest draws are the horsewomen. The other women just aren't very good.
Tag match added to the pre-show, Jason Jordan & The Hardy Boyz vs The Miz & The Miztourage. The two other pre-show matches are the Cruiserweight title re-match and the Smackdown tag titles.
