Are you specifying any criteria for judging "greatest"

    Most talented?
    Best peak?
    Best overall career?
    Biggest legacy?
Most impact on how the game was played?

Pele, Cruyff, Platini, Messi, Maradona, Beckenbauer, Di Stefano, and for the last one, I'm torn.

It will be interesting to see how many people put names of players on their list they haven't seen play before.

I only have two, Ronaldinho and Cristiano Ronaldo.

E: Ohh I forgot about that beard guy from Italia. Pirlo I think his name was.

E2: Add Kaka to the list.

    Awards:
Gerrard, Suarez, Salah, Alonso, Mascherano, van Dijk, Carragher, Owen. There you go.

In all seriousness, I'll go with Messi, Pele, C. Ronaldo (but if this rape thing is proven true, I would never put him anywhere near this list), Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Maradona, Platini, Garrincha.

8th is one of Garrincha Zidane or Platini. Going with Zidane as a personal preferance and because I saw him play more.

I never saw play the great dutchs (Cruyff, Van Basten) & brazilians (Zico, Pele, Garincha) & german (Muller, Beckenbauer)

HM to Ronaldinho who is possibly the most entertaining player I watched.
