if thats the case, how come andrew hammond being burried in the minors costs 325,000 against ottawa's cap if his cap hit is 1,350,000? shouldn't his burried cap cost be 425,000?

The 925k is outdated from 3 years ago. The last two years it has been 950k. This year and next it is 1025k. (in general 375k above the minimum salary)

That's a nice cheap contract there. IMO, he's worth every penny at that price. Where would he fit into the line-up ? 3rd or 4th line ?

If he's on your third line, you have major depth issues. Pure 4th liner and that's it at this point. Probably best as an injury fill in. I loved him in his time in Edmonton, but he wasn't good enough to play for us down the stretch or in the playoffs.

13th/14th player who adds depth & character to the Moose. By no means is he a heavyweight but he can grind & drop the gloves if required. Very minor signing

Love Hendricks. Thought his game completely fell off this year, but still gives it 100% all the time

Seems doubtful. Pretty sure he will be an AHL depth piece, and only called up if injuries occur.

He is also not good on the PK, so I'm unsure why they would want him as a specialist

Only way I see him helping on the PK is winning a defensive zone faceoff and immediately changing

Watching the practices this morning and hearing Maurice's assessment, am I to understand that Hendricks will be used in practises for younger players to improve their skills. Guys like Connor, Roslovic, and Petan (if they can't crack the top 6), they'll need to learn how to play against the opponent's bottom 6 players like Hendricks.

This is interesting. I'll have to watch how this develop this week. I wonder if we see some black eyes, bruises and such.

Please Understand
Honestly, if they valued Hendricks so much for his faceoffs and penalty killing, they would have signed him for more than a one-year, $700,000 contract. Hopefully he's here to impart some of his wisdom and experience in the National Hockey League to the younger players, and he moves on next season. He'll be the Littlest Hobo of NHL teams.

Would think they'd have coaches doing this
