for some reason the Leafs play better this year when being out shot, and lose when they out shoot the opposition, eg last night the leafs out shot Philly 34-29, there are many examples of this, doesn't make sense, but when they out play or out shoot they usually lose.

Quite an accomplishment for a team in year 6 of their current rebuild plan.

Well we did set the record for the worst penalty kill so I would say this is par for the course.

and in our 7 game losing streak we gave up 33 or less shots 5 times, 31 or less shots 4 times. It doesn't make sense. We give up loads of shots and win, and lately we've brought those totals down and can't stop losing.

Because the first shot is going in they don't have rebound shots.

I don't get this comment, he signed for 1 more year after this season + he is an RFA, so he's at the mercy of the leafs to resign, at best he can force a trade?!

I have to agree, goaltending has masked the inadequacies this team has had all season. The fact that they had even sniffed a playoff spot given the shortcomings is frankly remarkable.

just like if Bernier didn't go down and we had points in a few of the last seven games and were in the playoffs nobody would say anything either.

Do you think that there is any connection between the number of shots the Leafs give up against and the fact that Bernier got injured this season? He had never been a starter in the league and then found himself on a team that allows 35+ shots a game. And he was starting 4-5-7 games in a row.
