    Holtby? .894 sv% for 2x4.3 AAV

    Markstrom? 8.98 sv% for 6x6 AAV

Taylor Hall? 2 goals for 8m AAV

Any others? Who looks like the biggest regret so far?

Hard to say a 1 year deal that at the time was undervalued is a bad contract even if Hall hasn't lived up to it. They basically will get something for nothing when they trade him thus breaking the laws of physics

Markstrom might be a mistake because of the term. The others are pretty low risk.

Even in Markstrom's case, I think there are better days to come though. It's not disastrous either way.

Odd year. It wasn’t a great time for UFAs to get paid.

$8MM for 2 goals is a bad deal any way you slice it.

It’s a bad deal for Saber management and owners. It’s not a bad deal for Saber fans because they will be acquiring an asset(s) regardless of his disastrous season.

It's only 1 year, so it's hard for me to call any 1 year deal as a bad deal.

Haven't watched that many Vegas games but I felt signing Pietrangelo was kind of useless because they had Theodore.

Sabres still get a good haul from Hall on deadline so that's not that bad.

    Dadonov?

Hall is only one year and was technically a get a free asset at the trade deadline type of contract. By the time Buffalo trades Hall with retention they probably paid him 6 million dollars to test him out and acquire some assets.

Holtby is only 2 years and is really there to help Demko and then get exposed in the expansion draft.

Markstrom is the worst contract. He'll have a few good years out of the 6 but not enough to get value for him.

Hall still has 19 points in 37 games and will likely get at the very least a 2nd. If my name was Terry Pegula I probably wouldn't be too happy, though.

Markstrom is such a workhorse, he saves ALL shots but he still isn't satisfied.
So he shoots it back on himself 9 times per shot to perfect his technique.
    Generational work ethic!

Matt Murray is probably the worst one. Although the latest Binnington contract may give it a run.

Dadonov has been a disappointment for sure!

As for the people saying Hall, It really wasn’t a bad contract since it was just a single year. The only person why doesn’t like that contract now is the ownership and even then, Buffalo is going to get some assets in return if Hall is dealt. He’s been disappointing, that doesn’t mean his contract is bad.

Strictly UFA as OP stated, it Markstrom but Murray is the worst deal signed overall

For the life of me I cannot figure out how Eakin got 2 years, 2.25 million per. He’s a below replacement level player, basically, it’s like we paid a premium for a stopgap at C when in reality pretty much any call-up can do what Eakins does. Suck out loud.

Sabres scouting needs an overhaul for sure. Although it is weird too that good players go there and suck, and then leave and are good again. Hopefully Adams can clean house on staff. IMO it was what turned the Leafs from bottom feeder chokers to round 1 chokers. But having been a fan of both, at least you win sometimes losing in round 1 and it's fun to be in rivalries.

Off the trade block. For now.
We're talking "worst UFA contracts signed so far this past off season," not "worst contracts signed in the last 12 months." Binnington's contract wasn't signed in the offseason.

They don't have any scouting staff left to overhaul
