Worst NHL Debuts for a goalie?

Malcolm Subban's has to be up there. Three absolutely awful goals allowed and gets the yank in the second period.

Aside from emergency callups and career AHLers, have any solid NHL goalies gotten blasted in their debut and bounced back?

Only the first was a bad goal. The second took a deflection and the third was just a world class shot.

Worst deputs in NHL?

Thomas Vokoun with Canadiens against the Flyers Legion of Doom.
20 minutes, 4 goals, 10 shots GAA: 12.00 S%: 0.714

Luckily the debut doesn't mean that much how players career will end up in the future but why someone thought it would be a good idea to throw a rookie goalie Subban to play his first game against the offensive powerhouse St.Louis if it isn't absolutely necessary?

Claude Julien decided to start Rask in Edmonton two days ago and Subban in STL tonight. Nobody has any idea what this team is doing anymore.

I want to see a lot of players succeed. I'm just so confused as to why Rask started in Edmonton, and julien decided to start Subban against the blues, a powerhouse team with a lot of offensive firepower. I checked and the Bruins don't even have a back to back. They play Sunday against Chicago. It just doesn't make sense.

As a coach, if I felt someone was confident I'd play them. Maybe that was the case here, not sure. But man that is weird.

You could say he was trying to make sure the Bruins got 2 points but they got just 1 but regardless should of had the rookie play against a weaker team.

Far from the worst, but had to bring up Glenn Healy, lol.

Got to cut the kid a bit of slack. The first goal was a weak one for sure, but he had no chance on the other two.

Subban will make a good goalie, still has a ways to go though.

The more I think about it, it's kind of a cop-out.

St. Louis didn't get a SOG until like 13 minutes had elapsed in the first period. They put up 6 shots while Subban was in there, and only the Oshie backbreaker was a difficult chance. It's not like the Blues were a firing quad out there. Edmonton wouldn't have been easier than this. Not many NHL games would be that easy for a goalie, and he just handgifted the first two goals. The third is harder to pin on him, but it broke the camel's back coming so quickly after the previous one.

Personally I never liked the drafting of Malcolm and still don't get the hype surrounding the kid.

The first thing I thought was Chet Pickard, before I looked closer at the years involved.

Good ol' Brian Finley. I remember him playing a couple games for the Bruins many years ago.

Jeez, those two Preds games and the two Bruins games were the only 4 games he ever played in the NHL. Hows that for a bust.
