Wayne Cashman, Paul Holmgren, and Bill Barber are the worst, IMO.

Hak has a lot of talent to choose from and elects to go with trash.

Disagree. Hak has 4 legit scoring line players at ES this year: Giroux, Couturier, Konecny, and Voracek.

Simmonds somehow has 24 goals, but he's a liability at ES. Patrick for most of the year did not produce at a 2nd line clip. That doesn't mean he isn't talented or isn't going to be a great player, but you can't count him as a good scoring line player production wise this season.

Hak has two good defensemen: Ghost and Provorov. The rest stink.

And his goaltending has been an abomination, especially after the Elliott and Neuvirth injuries.

Saying he "has a lot of talent to choose from" is quite an exaggeration, IMO.

Maybe you think Laughton qualifies as a talented player because he's a former first round pick. He's still played 79 games this season and only has 20 points.

hak is the worst.

Berube's teams did not have the talent this roster had. Berube played a slower paced more defensive style game. Look at Mason's seasons with Berube. Hak on the other hand plays a slower paced style with no defensive game.

So after Filpulla got more ice time than Giroux yesterday, can we put this debate to bed?

It's Hakstol. It always has been Hakstol. It always will be Hakstol. There will never be another.

Remember when Hitchcock was an assistant coach in his first stint with the Flyers? Players hated him so much that they would sometimes trip his fat butt on the ice so they could watch him flop around like an orca on dry land.....

Obviously one of the better head coaches we had despite his focus on D to the detriment of the offense. Also despite his favoring vets which cost us Williams and in some respects Sharp and Seidenberg....

Him and Clarke were also the two stooges that created that situation of the season that shall not be mentioned. To add insult we lost the draft and got JVR instead of Kane....

Oh see I heard that Clarke had an issue with Williams - him partying, being late to practice, etc - which is why we got rid of him

Hasktol doesn't have the worst system hockey has ever seen, but it's certainly the one of the most boring and unoriginal (and usually produces mediocre results). Chip and chase, low to high hockey is exactly why most of college hockey is borderline unwatchable. It's also why UND never took the next step under Hakstol, despite having a sizeable talent advantage over most teams in the country. You're not going to get blown out a lot with Hakstol as your coach, but you're certainly not going to have a lot of cakewalks either.

I never heard that? Are you thinkin Upshall and some of the other party boys that Homer felt had to be broken up? Williams was always in Hitch's doghouse. Hitch was tough on younger players.....Gagne said he was able to handle his digs and style ....same with Modano on Dallas. They credit him for developing them but said not all players could deal with his style. Needed thick skin...he tempered himself later in his career

This is 100% correct.

Yeah I heard the Williams thing was Clarke. In general Clarke was known for having issues with the young guys who partied - which is understandable. But sometimes to the detriment of our roster.
