Tampa Bay was just crushed by Columbus these last 4 games. I remember this pain from two years ago. What do you think is worse Tampa getting swept by Columbus or Chicago getting swept by Nashville? There is a fair argument for both.

Edit: nevermind lmao

Columbus over Tampa and it's not even close.

We're talking about a president's award wining team with 62 wins tied for the most of all time in nhl history getting plowed by the 8th seed in a sweep.

Atleast Chicago won cups with their core and they were gassed from playing so many post season games before that.

Tampa had, what, 12 more wins than that Hawks team?

Tampa is a bigger collapse.

Chicago in 17 is nothing compared to the Lightning this year, even the Caps blowing a 3-1 lead in round 1 while winning the president's trophy is worse. By all accounts this was supposed to be a series the Bolts win, at least the Hawks-Preds series was seen as a coinflip heading into game 1.

It's funny how after time passes we try and compete to convince everyone our pain was worse.

Can we stop making polls about this shit. Can’t see how anyone could match this level of choking.

Honestly that is the best way to put it.

Its kinda funny how everyone says "the regular season means nothing in the playoffs" but when a team loses, all of a sudden it becomes a thing again.

We might as well stop comparing this to other upsets because it's simply the biggest one the NHL has seen.

:nopity:

This playoff loss by Tampa will go down as one of the worst in NHL history.

Yep.

Like when a team riddled with injuries loses, injuries are no excuse but when you beat a team riddled with injuries, it's used to devalue the win.
Same with B2B games. It's no excuse to lose but if you beat a team who played the previous night, you don't get full credit for the win.

That's kinda the level of upset we're looking at here with CBJ.

Yep...well, at least people who actually watched the two teams play thought that. Plenty of people who didn't follow the Hawks thought it was a huge upset but people who watched the games knew that Corey Crawford masked a lot of the defensive weaknesses of that team and that they finished the year with a better record than they should have because of it. While the sweep was unexpected, losing to Nashville wasn't a shocker to anyone who was paying attention. Tampa, on the other hand...yeah, nothing even needs to be said. It's not even remotely close.

Chicago wasn't even that good in 2017, it was a smoke and mirrors season. I'm not sure any Hawk fan saw them winning the Cup that year.

This is a perfect time to post AINEC
