World Cup officially expands to 48 teams

I cannot put into words how much I hate the 3 team groups and penalty kicks after 90.

They should have just said "**** it" and expanded bigger so that we could have 4 team groups again.

Or do a bracket tournament instead.

This ^ if you're going to expand it than go big or go home. Should've just went to 64 and just had a big tournament bracket like the NCAA or go to groups of 4. This format blows

It will be like Spain 1982 when they had a rubbish-format with three team second roundgroups. In 1986 they came up with a more sensible format.

In 2030 they will have invented something else.
