2-0 is lingering in the air. Numerous great scoring chances.

Really smooth by Bäckström when he was trapped at the blueline, when he flipped it in to his teammate in front of the goalie. I thought he was screwed.

Only one team on the ice so far. Germany can only clear it for icing when they get the puck. And there came PP no. 3.

What bugs me is the Swedish players are bad at going directly for goal without the puck. The puck comes in, but no one is there.

Bäckström has found his linemates.

Sweden should lead with 3-0, at the very least, IMO.

We will surely face some PK in the second.

Agreed. The germans are probably very pleased to keep the score down to 1 goal. One quick counter attack or one good PP from the germans and this game is even again.

Even worse. "Klappa händerna när du är riktigt glad."

If you watch Simpsons, it's something Ned Flanders and his sons would sing if they were Swedish.

"Alla ni som älskar Jesus klappar nu"?

It took 30 seconds. ;) And there is number 2 for one of the most redicilous rules ever added to the sport. Delay of game my ***. I mean, how can you call it "intentional delay of game"?! No one in their right mind would intentionally do anything that cost a penalty, the same with goalies that are unlucky and clears it out of the rink.

1-1 on a 5 on 3. :shakehead

The Swedes are really working hard to make it difficult for the Germans to make that long line change. The German bench was warned for not making the substitutions in between plays fast enough.

2-1! Isaksson in the wonderful Omark line!

Wikegård: "Where did that come from? What cream in that shot!" :biglaugh:

"Vilken kräm i skottet!"

They've only played it for icing about 320 times so far. ;) I think the Swedish model suits us better playing Germany than it does for Canada. Also, Germany play back to back.

Zachrisson! Very nice dekes.
