In 2004/2005 season there were a lot of NHL ready prospects on the WCH U20. If they can go also this year, ho will the teams be compared to 2005? Better, worse?

Canada then and now.
Finland then and now

There is no 17 year old Sidney Crosby like player that will be on Team Canada 2021 WJ team, so Team Canada 2021 not as strong as Team Canada 2005. but if all players show up to play will be a pretty stacked team and gold medal favorite.

Can't speak to 2021 Team Finland.

I'm guessing Canada worse, almost every other team better. Maybe not Russia due to the 19 year old Ovechkin and 18 year old Malkin combo from 2005.

That was the last Czech Medal! Took out Kessel and Co. for the Bronze. Let's see:

Should be noted that Schwarz was named to the all star team and was a highly touted goalie at the time... obviously, that didn't work out.

Frolik, Krejci, Cervenka, Olesz, Polak and Smid went on to some success.

If I'm being honest, I'm surprised this group won bronze in such a stacked tournament.

In either case this year's team won't have 2 D make the NHL or anything near the quality of Krejci at C.

We'll be worse (note: I knew that before even looking). I'm actually not sure no NHL will impact us in anyway at all as I think we'll have the same roster. It'd be nice if our best 2 forwards didn't get injured right away!

The 2013 tourney should be brought in to the conversation. NHLers and NHL ready players participated in that tournament.
