His stats with the U20 team were what stood out most to me, as he average a goal every other game, and added 6 assists and 35 penalty minutes (for those of you who love guys that aren't afraid to get physical) in 26 games. His stats for HC Kometa were a lot less encouraging; a whopping 2 goals and 0 assists in 29 games, but it is worth noting junior players generally get less ice time when playing for the big club. His assist totals were rather low during international play as well, but his goal scoring was still respectable as he averaged a goal every third game. Jenys seems to be a scorer rather than a set-up man, and we all know the Devils could use some goal scorers in the system. - Hockey's Future article (August 2013)
Jenyš won five straight years before the 2011-12 season. After enjoying success with current Acadie-Bathurst Titan winger Adam Zbořil (older brother of the aforementioned Jakub Zbořil), who captained the Under-16 team in their winning campaign and collected 75 points in 25 games, Jenyš spent the majority of the following season in the Under-18 Extraliga where he had 17 points in 33 games at the age of 15.
Jenyš's impressive performance led to the organization giving the young forward a chance to compete among pros. Jenyš first wore Kometa's first-team jersey during the European Trophy, where he played in two games as a 16-year-old and collected an assist.
Besides that, he played for Brno's Under-20 team where he posted numbers similar to those he had a year before at the U18 level. Also, the Under-18 national team first called him up for duty when they traveled overseas for the World Junior A Challenge in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Over there, Jenyš played in four games, but failed to register a point. Almost a year later, he's back with the Under-18 national team and doing much better.
