That wasn't even an attempted hit. Pouliot just doesn't have the leg strength to stop himself at that speed so he had to use the boards to his advantage. I'm not even joking when I say that, Pouliot's skating is awwwfuulllll and he falls down so many times a game.

:skeptic:

I know you say your not joking but I'm still not fully convinced you actually believe that?

Bout 2 of the series - Pouliot vs Ference

Appologies for the over the top commentary and the obvious mistakes they made, but it's the only clip I could find.

Closer than the first fight, but I'd give the edge to Ferrence in this one. Props to him for taking on the bigger man and defending his teammate after the Pouliot flying elbow attempt. As a Hab fan, I hope this is the last we see of Pouliot in this series and that Halpern is ready to go next game.

I thought Benoit Brunet was the worse out there... Until i saw this :help:

As for the main subject; Wiz with the clear win

Honestly, I have NO idea how people in Boston can tolerate that announce team. Just watching that had me wanting to throw something at my computer, I couldn't imagine a full game.

They rant and rave about no penalty when there WAS a penalty ("there was no arm up after that hit..."...yes, there was), they get into Pouliot's struggles, blah blah. It's just...bad.

Having said that, I kinda gained respect for Pouliot for making an attempt to get his helmet off.

The whole schtick with the NESN team is that you're basically watching the game with a bunch of Bruins fans. They make no apologies for that, in fact they play it up in their advertising. I have no problem with it.

That said, Brickley embarrassed himself saying the ref didn't have an arm up just after they clearly showed him with his arm up.

Lol, I remember when I was a kid (late 80's) my dad used to complain about the Gord Kluzak / Derek Sanderson duo on NESN. Good to see times haven't changed much.

Tough to watch that feed if you're a fan of the opposing team, easier to ignore if you're a Bruins fan.

Wow that announcing was embarrassing. After those two morons had finally calmed down from spewing their ridiculous bias garbage, they show a replay of the hit and the ref has his arms up and he says the refs didn't originally have his arm up.

And later on in the game they acknowledged that and apologized to the refs.

With all the garbage we've heard out of Montreal over the last month, it's fitting.

Brick apolgized to the officials, and the viewers for missing the arm up.

I've noticed NESN having horrible announce teams and not just in hockey. I hate Eckersley's attempts to cover baseball. Guy talks about cheese all game and doesn't know a single non Red Sox player.

Doesn't matter shouldn't be fighting with a visor if your opponent doesn't have one too.

Really? Hnidy really didn't give Wiz a choice in weather he was going to fight or not (as I said in a previous post, that's fine), but just like the White vs Boychuck fight, when another player gets on you right away gloves off ready to go, you don't really get a chance to take off the helmet and go.

Not to mention that most players are switching to visors now, so the Don Cherry school of thought on that is pretty much over.

Thats why Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo are the announcers, not Dennis Eckersely.

I don't know why everyone complains about Edwards, hes obviously the most biased announcer on the planet and all Bruins fans know it/embrace it.

Its not that hard to press the mute button if you don't like it.

Oh and a clear win for Wiz in this fight. But I'd love for Sherriff Shane to get his ass kicked again if its means taking one of the Habs' better defenders off the ice for five mins lol.

Yes...so he should take some punches to the face and not hit back while he's taking his visor off? Right...

As for the 2nd fight, I was at the game on Monday (3 rows behind the penalty box so I had a perfect view of the fight) - Pouliot tried to remove his visor when fighting Ferrence, and Ferrence attempted to punch him a few times, so he stopped removing his visor and fought back. Ferrence isn't much of a fighter either way, but I felt it was a dick move since Pouliot was trying to be a man.

In the heat of the moment, when a player doesn't give you the choice to fight or not, you don't have the time to skate away and take your visor off...

ummm, no, and no.

thats not the 'schtick' and Brickley didnt embarrass anything, he made a mistake and missed the call, and acknowledged it and apologozed to the refs for it.

If this whole thread being full of people thinking Wisniewski won doesn't convince you, maybe 79% of people who watched the fight on hockeyfights.com will: http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/104659

Seriously, how deluded can you be...

deluded?

to actauklly say there was a winner there, you'd have to be delusional.

i suppose you think ferrence won his fight too, just because he got the take down in the end????

yaa.. delusional.

Not very obvious in the NESN clip but it was clear as day on CBC.

Leafs fan. Hate both of the teams evenly. No reason I'd take a side.

55 seconds to 58 second mark will give you the best view.
