Best guess would be having Zadina start the year in Grand Rapids, and waiving either Frk or Witkowski. Doing those, then putting Franzen on LTIR, should get them under the cap, and still allow Rasmussen to start the year with Detroit.

Happy he's signed. Think it's a fair deal. I was hoping we would get at least 6 years, I know we were pushing for that. Larkin has himself in a nice spot negotiating a purely UFA deal at 25/26 years old.

I like this deal because whether he is ACTUALLY defined as a league wide/renowned 1C is partially irrelevant. What he is to the Detroit Red Wings IS a 1C and if thats true, 6m for a 1c is great.

That’s a lot of money based on what he’s shown thus far. I thought a bridge deal would have been a better option seeing how we are in a horrible cap situation as well...

I think Frk and Witter is just enough, with room to call up Zadina later in the season without a trade being necessary.

Either way good deal, glad he signed. Him and mantha together should have some damn good seasons.
