When Yzerman aquires Perlini, and certain need at forward corps, people whine here how Blashill won't give Svechnikov ice-time and blaims Blashill.

Yzerman will get a report from Blashill of the situation, and Yzerman operates DECISIONS based on that.

That's how normal management works.

All big picture falls on Yzerman. Just like it did for Holland before. Babcock had his ideas and Holland still operated on his own way.

Good god, man. What does blashill have to do for you to stop drinking the Koolaid?

First Big E, now Hicketts, the musical chair blue line to start each of the last 2 seasons is actually pretty crazy.

It is kind of nice to have new faces in and out of the lineup.. One thing we know is Stevie Y won't let the line up sit and go stagnant. Now I wish some of the guys coming up were our more promising players, but I think they will be later in the year depending on Grand Rapids situation...

One thing that shouldn't be lost is how we treat our depth options who taxi back and forth to the minors and pros... As we become a more competitive team and salary cap is an issue again, those players will know how the organization treats them, whether is getting called up to get a bigger pay day and be insurance.. Or do we just bury them in the minors and let them rot?

The musical chairs are pretty irrelevant though. Our only defensemen that matter are Hronek or Cholowski or they're in GR.

And, fortunately, it's mostly good news on that front. Hronek's establishing himself as a legit top-pairing defenseman. Cholowski seems to be pushing through adversity pretty well. (He logged some serious ice time against the Ducks.) Seider isn't quite ready for prime time, but he's registered 8 assists through his first 15 North American pro games -- as an 18-year-old defenseman -- and he's playing in all situations.

The rest is noise.
