If it's 2x3.3 it's a great deal for us, not much of a comparison to AA's deal as they were not in the same terms of negotiation this off-season, but still can't believe he's here south of 3.5 on a 2 year.

Solid deal, if he puts up a 30+ goal campaign and close to 65 points at any point before his next contract he should be in the 7m+ range.

Any else hoping it was going be longer? Where does this leave DL with what, 2.5 million dollars left?

Nice. Now we just wait for Larkin to get done. Hope Mantha is determined to earn himself a big payday on his next deal, no reason he shouldn't be able to consistently score ~30 goals or more.

You're hitting on the issue with this deal. Mantha (and AA) will be looking at their next deals when they are 25, looking at UFA in the very near future, and maybe thinking they left some on the table with these deals (less so AA, but he certainly was looking for more last fall, so I'm guessing he's always going to be looking for a bit more).

This is a good deal right now, when we don't really need excess cap space. If they hit their expectations, we are looking at some ugly raises in the near future unless we get some Yzerman type love going for us.
