LMAO the Canucks twitter page really has Markus freakin Granlund ahead of Pettersson on the depth chart, yikes.
A couple more looks should do it for Leipsic.
He must be close to his final opportunity now as he gets a prime one along side EP40.
He’s a turnover machine that’s lies on the ice once per shift... but when he’s not lying on the ice, or giving the puck away, he has some teasing skills and hands that’s kept him around.
Having being done with the idea of Leispic since his last game... I’m really intrigued by a 77-40-Leipsic line...
He could either...
-kill their shifts
-work perfectly with his speed and offensive instincts.
As long as he defers as much as possible to 40 and uses his O IQ to be in the right position... it could work.
But if he doesn’t work with 40... I think he’s about near the end of his current opportunity with the Canucks.
I'm feeling Tyler Bertuzzi pots one against us - he was one of the few Detroit players who looked good against Edmonton on Saturday
Looks like Horvat and Granlund's lines will see the defensive assignments, EP's line will get the offensive assignments, and Gaudette's line will see like 8 mins (+Motte's PK mins).
I'm glad Leipsic is in the lineup he's been terrible this year but ended last season on a ~50 point pace playing with Horvat.
I'm willing to give him another shot.
Helm.. always liked him..
Fantastic speed... perfect bottom 6er.
1st line LWer tho?
Must be the puck retriever/board battler of the line.
I don’t think they want Daley-Green vs 40 for speed reasons... will likely be matched vs Horvat.
We’ll be trying to get Horvat vs Larkin.. be we don’t have last change.
Might be one of those games where Greene just rolls em and whatever happens, happens..
I'll take points for EP preferably while embarrassing cholowski
I dont think Leipsic will play. I think he just took line rushes at practice because they gave Boeser a maintainance day.
Also Archi is in. Looks like we want to make sure we have some muscle for road games just to keep teams honest w. Our young studs.
My unspoken position was that if Vancouver won against Colorado on Friday night, I wanted them to take this one, too. So I'm hoping our Swedish hyper-prospect and his Russian hanger-on show our colleagues in the Motor City what's up. Preferably together. Just to tease them.
I am smirking at the thought of Pettersson putting on a show in Detroit while wearing Z's #40. I'm sure that if Pettersson was a Red Wing and chose #33, their fans would want him to do the same in Vancouver.
I'm not sold on Goldobin either. I don't get how he can be playing with this uber wunderkid and still not be producing , or at least getting boatloads of chances.
I think he just may be a mentally lazy player. If there was ever a chance to prove his offensive worth its now, he's playing with arguably one of the best offensive players in the league (sure its early, but #40 has shown that SO FAR), and yet Goldy has what 6 pts in 15 games, 1 goal and a 3.8% shooting percentage? Hell Erickson is 1 pt behind him with a better shooting percentage and we all know how offensively challenged he's been for years.
I am not sold on Goldy or Leipsic and think they are place holders. My hope is he is being put there to rack up some freebies so that JB can move him at the deadline in some sort of package. I just don't see this kid as a player who will make a difference at any point.
I'd prefer to see a top 6 of
Rousell EP Boeser (get a digger with some grit/protection on that line), let EP and Bo do their thing
Baer Bo Virtanen (had good chemistry last year in spurts)
Shaller Sutter Granlund
Motte Beagle/Gaudette / Erickson
Well, this should be one we can take, but I think the teams are more evenly matched than things appear at the moment.
5-3 Canucks. Goals by Boeser Horvat Schaller Stecher and Virtanen
8-3 Canucks, Pettersson with 8 pts.
Pettersson starts to fade a bit.
Only three points tonight.
Boeser is injured again
Canucks should be fresh with three days off. But for some reason the first period of the first game on a long road-trip can be hairy at times. Markstrom will be busy and have to be their best player in the early going. Not sure what Bo can do with Schaller and Virtanen. First NHL goal for Gaudette tonight?
What a bum. Why do we even pay him entry level salary? Such a waste of money for three points.
..."different scoring system than basketball?"...
I'm hoping for a shoot out. I have Larkin, Mantha, Horvat and Boeser in my pool (a certain friend of mine scooped Pettersson the turn I was going to take him), so another 7-6 thriller would be awesome for me.
Plus I can watch most of this game. Big win for me there.
what the **** is the point in x:30 games
Nop some tightness w. The groin.
Green says Brock feels better today which is great but they are not rushing him and wants him in when hes 100%
So typical of this organization to rush a player back to have the injury flare up again.
Hopefully they let Boeser get a 100% healthy this time, although I don’t see it happening.
