If he was not injured and probably coming off of a cup win or deep playoff run.. he would have got 4-5 on the open market for 3-5 years.. it could work out to be a STEAL of a deal compared to what guys were getting..

Can you name a better UFA who signed for cheaper this off season?

Not as controversial/fun as the Williams trade, but Mitchell deserves his own bump. Deal was mostly supported with a few concerns on overpayment and injury. Once again, In Dean Lombardi We Trust.

Won't see anything like this announced by the Kings while we are still playing. Or I would be really shocked to see it. Much like I think the Gaborik deal is done just not announced.
