With the expiring CBA and negotiations between the union and the owners becoming increasingly polarized, how do you think the upcoming CBA dispute will affect the 2022 season? Do you think it will be cancelled entirely?

The sides are far apart and we hear about players very bitter towards the owners and Manfred but don't think something wont' get done closer to 2022. They saw what happened in 1994. They do NOT want to see that again.

In this day and age a lockout is pretty detrimental. Even in 1994 or the 2003 NHL lockout we did not have social media. The PR nightmare on social media of a cancelled 162 game season would be too much.

There will be a shortened season. Hopefully I’m wrong but it just seems both sides are to far gone and headed to a struggle.

How many of them really saw it? You have all new players, a ton of new owners and a new commissioner since 1995 and baseball’s revenues have only skyrocketed since then. The players don’t give a crap about the game’s supposed popularity decrease with a lockout and the owners were within a sliver of canceling last year.

Most of the people involved today are not from 1994

The Players certainly would have no real understanding of how damaging that was as most players came to league in post Sosa/Mcguire boom when game came back

They dont remember the years of struggling to get fans or the longterm effect it had in certain markets

Yup there's going to be a shit fight. IMO the chances of not having any baseball next year is greater than 50%.
