Will the Oilers make the playoffs next season if they draft Hughes?

Will the Oilers be a playoff team for the 2019/20 season?

I mean they could (somewhat) realistically make the playoffs next year with or without Hughes but how much of that would be just because of Hughes vs just being in other aspects and regards too?

But if you're asking if an 18 year old can come in and magically take EDM to the next level and transform them into a contender, no.

It's a loaded question you are asking.

they landed the best player in the world and have managed to make the playoffs once in 4 years, so yeah no.
D is awful. goaltending is awful. no depth. a couple elite pieces up front and not much else. worst drafting organization in the league easy

It depends on the time period you are referring to. Right now, their AHL teams led by rookies, are tied for the fourth-longest winning streak in AHL history.
