I am not sure about the details of when the current CBA runs out, but will the 2004 draft be held for sure even in the worst case scenario (no progress in putting together the next CBA)?

This means EITHER:
A. A combined 2005+2006 draft in 1 session...
OR B. 2 separate drafts at that time (one for '05 and one
for '06)...
HOWEVER--this assumes the new CBA will still allow the draft....
IF instead,it is scrapped --in favour of a free- for- all sign ANYBODY
over 18 SUBJECT to a team salary+ bonus CAP,then in that
sceanario the 2004 draft would be the last entry draft...
.should CBA be agreed to (and draft system retained) after
June'05 but before Sept'05 (ie. still "time" before season
starts) --then a late '05 draft could be held in Aug or early
Sept. depending on when CBA agreed to (but the window for this
would be extremely tight and while an August draft might be likely
by Sept. it is very late --they might just post-pone till June'06...
