The Wild are running on fumes...both goalies are tired and they lose Hal Gill for at least 1/2 the rest of the games. I don't think they're gonna hang on.

The Oilers have moved from the bubble to likely being in.

Preds 80
Flames 79
Wild 75
Vancouver 75
-------
Colorado 71
Ducks 69
Sharks 68
Jackets 68

Intresting how Gill's Condition is 71 and he's out for 1 week. Morrow's condition is 75 and he's out for 3 weeks.. go figure.. :dunno:

Must be because of Gill's 95 DU opposed to Morrow's 74.

On another note, with the 7-0 drubbing Colorado handed my Rangers last night, New York's season is officially in shambles. Typical that when my team needs wins the most, they go into a 3 game losing streak capped off (so far) by a 7-0 loss. Looks like no playoffs again barring some kind of unlikely torrid finish.

That was one sweet win.. I was just hoping for my guys to eliminate the Kovalchuk-Savard duo. They ended up doing much more than that. Outshooting the Rags 39-16, the top line had 4 goals, 2nd line 2 goals and 3rd liner Gelinas had a PP goal filling in for Kunitz who was serving a 10 minute misconduct penalty. Kovalchuk and Savard were held to one shot each.

Next up Tampa Bay, who lost 3rd liner and top PK forward Johan Franzen to an injury last night.

Tampa Bay came back from being 2-0 behind and won the game with 3-2 :) Joe Corvo had the gamewinning goal. I changed goalie and Johan Holmqvist was the first star :)

BlueJackets with a MUST win at Nashville tonite. If they drop that one, then they will essentially be out of it and the Preds will be at least 10 pts up with 10 games to go. Minnesota visits Florida for a key game in both conferences.

You sure about that. Why is it a key game for the Panthers? Is not like the team going to catch the top 4. Although, 1 lost could mean joining the scrap w/ the Rags, Sens, Pens, Leafs and Broons. I can't see that happening.

It wasn't a MUST WIN for you, Tony, just for me. Fortunately, my re-jigged St. Louis-free lineup game to play (look at those shot totals!). It's not likely to affect your playoffs, but means I still have a shot - albeit a slim one - at catching Vancouver or Minnesota.

Which would be sweet, if I somehow pulled it off, since it would mean 4 out of 5 Central Divsion teams making it to the post-season.

But like I said, I'm not holding my breath: 10 games left, half of them against your Preds, and the others against the Wings and Blues. :surrender

I guess DU doesn't matter that much. Morrow is now DD and CD91, while Gill is still 1W and CD79.

Now My bold prediction is that Colorado and San Jose will both make the playoffs over Minnesota and Vancouver. Avs and Sharks will get 88-86 points and Nucks and Wild end up at 86-84 points.

Weird... just another one of the many quirks or FHLSim I guess...

There was one scenario earlier this season with Rick Nash. He was out for a long spell, and his CD was low 80's I think, he was 3W, and then jumped to the 90's, was 1W, then dropped back to the 80's but went DD. Something like that - Tony might remember the specifics better - in the end Nash recovered a little ahead of the original schedule.

Huge game tonight as Calgary goes to Vancouver. A Flames win would boost the chances of the 4 teams chasing the Canucks. But if the Canucks hold home ice, it would make it much tougher. Colorado also with a big game hosting the struggling Red Wings.

Focusing on the 4 teams in the battle of the last two playoff spots, here's how my prediction looks like:
Minnesota 79 9 games left (VANx2, CHI, EDM, NJ, NYI, ANA, STL and DET)
Vancouver 78 9 games left (CGYx2, MINx2, COLx2, DETx2 and TBL)
-----------------------
Colorado 73 11 games left (VANx2, DET, NJD, WSH, BUF, MTL, NSH, NYI, OTT, PHI )
San Jose 72 10 games left (LAx3, PHXx2, DAL, CGY, TOR, BOS, BUF and TBL)

Breaking it down, I see:
-the Wild picking up wins against CHI, NYI and ANA picking up 2 points against VAN and losses against NJ, STL and DET. This for a total of 8 points and a season total of 87 points.
-the Nucks are 1-4-1 against COL this season, so 1 point from the two games against COL. 4 points total from the 4 MIN(2-1-3) and CGY(3-2-1) games, losses against DET and a win against TBL. This for a total of 7 points and a season total of 85 points.
-the Avs pick up 3 points against VAN, losses against DET, NJ and BUF and wins against WSH, MTL, NSH, NYI, OTT and a tie against PHI. This for a total of 14 points and 87 on the season.
-the Sharks pick up 10 points against LA and PHX, add wins against TOR, BOS and TBL, pick up a tie in CGY and lose to DAL and BUF. That gives them 17 points and 87 on the season.

Final Standings:
San Jose 87 (40 wins)
Colorado 87 (39 wins)
--------------
Minnesota 87 (38 wins)
Vancouver 85

Well, of the 6 teams in action in the playoff hunt in the west, only the Canucks got a victory

Nashville 82 (10 left)
Calgary 82 (9 left)
Vancouver 80 (8 left)
Minnesota 79 (8 left)
--------------------
Colorado 73 (10 left)
San Jose 72 (9 left)
Anaheim 70 (10 left)
Columbus 70 (9 left)

The Wild have 2 off days now, and when they return to action, Vesa Toskala should be back to 100% rest for the first time in months, (thank you Joey McDonald for your fine play the last 7 games). And big Hal Gill will be healthy and back in action, allowing the Wild to skate their best squad for the last 8 games.

Could'nt get anyone to take the bait with those 'predicted final standings' eh Ville? ;)

Hmmm ... Vancouver's only going to get 5 out of 16 points (that said that would still be better than the HFNHL Wings play as of late - heck they might get 4pts out of Detroit alone) and Colorado is suddenly going to have a .700 win percentage in the final 10?

Guess the Hawks missed the message that they were suppossed to be an easy victory ;)

I never said you would be. :)

I wanted to get Vesa back to 100% for my last stretch of games and McDonald has been good in net for me....but you got 3 past him.

A HUGE Colorado win at New Jersey makes things tighter in the west

Nashville 82 (10 left)
Calgary 82 (9 left)
Vancouver 80 (8 left)
Minnesota 79 (8 left)
------------
Colorado 75 W (9 left)
San Jose 72 (9 left)
Anaheim 70 (10 left)
BlueJackets 70 (9 left)

Colorado will play their one game in hand over Vancouver and Minnesota as they host the Caps, who have dropped 10 straight, tomorrow. The BlueJackets last gasp will be at Nashville. A Preds win will pretty much clinch a spot for them and knockout the CBJ. Anaheim will host the Leafs and the Sharks face a tough road test at Dallas for their game in hand against the 2 teams at 7 and 8 in the standings.
