The contract starts when he goes pro. I don't think there's been any indication of exactly when that'll be.So, what does this mean? When does he the contract actually start, and where will he play? He's too young for the AHL.
Lodnia was one of the youngest in the draft and won't be AHL eligable next year, so barring a miracle and him making the NHL next year, the contract won't start until 2019-2020 season.OK... so it's an open ended start date. Hopefully Fletcher gets Sokolov locked up, also.
Apparently Lodnia is fluent in Russian.
Someone get him Kaprizov's number!OK... so it's an open ended start date. Hopefully Fletcher gets Sokolov locked up, also.

Not eligible to play in AHL until he is 20 yrs old because he was drafted out of CHL.Lodnia was one of the youngest in the draft and won't be AHL eligable next year, so barring a miracle and him making the NHL next year, the contract won't start until 2019-2020 season.
Good. Pursue all avenues.Russo said on his most recent podcast that the Wild signed Lodnia because his agent is Kaprizov's (future) agent, and to build a relationship with this agent.
Lodnia loaned to Dinamo Minsk. Interesting move.
I'm guessing both he and the Wild both feel that the chances of the AHL playing is remote, thus the Wild are willing to loan prospects as an alternative.Seems like he is betting on an AHL stoppage or delay for 20-21, or maybe he thinks Iowa is too tough of a lineup to crack. Either way the KHL is a very good alternative. Also good for the organization as they continue to build their brand in Russia.
