3 years makes him a UFA when the contract ends, correct?

The money is fine, I was guessing a $850k x 2 contract.

Outside of the entry level, don't recall seeing a contract so long for so few $.
Good deal.

3 years was way longer than expected at that price... pleasant surprise!

Total value deal at this point!

Great value deal by Fenton and Co.... really happy we will continue to see Seeler in a wild uniform, he played like our best DMan at times.

What times? Do you mean the best defenseman on the bottom pair?

Yeah, best during games Seeler played is either Suter or Dumba... but he did play solid middle pair defense himself though. Looked better in the playoffs than Brodin and Spurgeon, but Spurgeon was coming off injury so that isn't all that surprising. Brodin just couldn't handle being the Suter replacement in the post season.

Not many players could, in his defense.

Agreed, it wasn't meant as a slight, just the reality of the situation that Brodin is really only a top pair player with Suter on that pair.

Dumba looked decent through not great on that top pair without Suter, but Brodin looked completely out of place.

Either way though, Seeler not being the best defenseman at times also isn't a slight, he played better than any of us expected!

Dumba jumped to the top pair, Brodin shifted to the right side, Seeler took Brodin's spot on the middle left side, the team played its best hockey of the season minus Spurgeon heading into the playoffs before Suter's injury kicked their feet out from under them.

That's a nice story, too bad it's not the way it happened. Brodin/Murphy was the 2nd pair and Seeler/Prosser was the bottom pair.

Murphy was a disaster ended up benched, getting Soucy called up, Brodin moving right and Seeler moving to the middle pair.

Olofsson got into the lineup a couple of times in place of Seeler before Suter got hurt. But here is the last game Suter, Seeler, and Brodin were all healthy.

Sure as heck looks like Suter/Dumba, Brodin/Murphy, and Seeler/Prosser were the pairings

One game tells the entire month story?

All I know for sure is Seeler did spend significant time with Brodin on the ice as well. Brodin was maybe taking shifts from Prosser, likely, Suter takes so much left side time, Brodin's extra shifts certainly aren't going to take much time there, where as he could easily get extra time filling in for Prosser while Dumba was taking extra time from Murphy...

Do you want me to post all of them that Spurgeon missed? They all look like this. Suter/Dumba, Brodin/Murphy, and Seeler(Olofsson)/Prosser.

Seeler was at ~11 mins a night, Murphy was at ~19 mins a night. The only time Seeler was above that was on games that either Brodin or Suter were injured.

Seeler did play some 2nd line with Spurgeon when Brodin was hurt. Brodin wasn't paired with Seeler.

Soucy was brought up to play LD after Olofsson got his bell rung, and Suter broke his ankle. It had nothing to do with Murphy, who played on the 2nd pair RD until Spurgeon recovered.
