Stats have a purpose but they also don't necessarily decide games. If they did upsets wouldn't happen and the better team would always win and the best teams would always qualify. Houston this year was an awful road team. The 2012 Orioles gave up more runs than they scored. They went 17-2 in extras and like 30-3 in one run games or something stupid like that. Numbers that'd be tough to duplicate. That didn't necessarily make them a good team overall they just had a year you couldn't explain. Now I give Houston credit. It was a fun year for them and their fans but I don't think their style will work long term. Living and dying with the HR ball isn't a good idea. They cooled off in the 2nd half. I think that was more the real team
