I think Ottawa would have to retain salary for Anderson to have value as a 1b or solid backup. We all know Eugine isn't going to agree to that.

Flames should trade Mike admits for Anderson. Gives them a better backup than Smith for this year and next.

I think Anderson has indicated he would like to stay with the Sens. I think it's kind of the same thing as Lundqvist wanting to stay with the Rangers. With that being said, Anderson would be a valuable vet backup to any team with a young starting netminder. Either a very low draft pick or a C level prospect, plus some salary retained would probably be Anderson's trade value.

Anderson does absolutely nothing for a contending team. At most you get a 5/6/7 pick from a middling team like Carolina or Montreal?

Because nobody wants to pay 4.75M next year for a 38-year old goalie with a 0.900 save % over the last two seasons.

Lajoie, Harpur, Jaros .... that's a lot of unexperienced defenders on the blue line. Tough spot for a goalie to be in.
