Why isn't Patrik Thoresen drafted?

I think if the NHL rule changes lead to a different style of play this year, we may start to see guys cross the pond and take a chance a little more frequently. I'm talking about more super-skilled guys, and less Andreas Dackell types (no disrespect to Andreas or his family).

Perhaps a year from now may be too late for a guy like Patrick Lebeau (arguably one of the best players in the world in 2004-05), but maybe a guy like Thoresen or a guy like Patrik Bartschi et al would take their best shot.

I hope so, since we can never have too much pure skill in the NHL.

I think he was a player who did everything just a bit better than everyone else in junior, but nothing exceptionally well. Also had a tendency to lay back on the odd shift, which may have deterred some GMs on his potential.
