Why is Ivan Provorov so damn underrated?

Are you sure the guy you are talking about is Provorov?

From what i remember he struggled heavily and certainly didn't control play in any way. But Ghost is the one that was brutally bad. That said one playoff series doesn't define a player.

Right, it tells you that when Provorov was on the ice without Ghost they weren't getting scored on but when he was on the ice with Ghost they were scored on slightly more than they were scoring and when Ghost was on the ice without Provorov they were getting scored on like it was going out of style. I mean, all you had to do was watch the games and you would know that Provorov played well and Ghost was the problem. I can show you stats and you can ignore them all you want but it's pretty much common knowledge that Ghost **** the bed and Provorov was fine.

Eh if your corsi relative is a tad bit worse than your team while you're being bombarded with insane zone starts and quality of competition, you can still be considered a great Dman especially with his offensive production and improvement. Oh not to mention he played a ton with Andy f***ing MacDonald.

I dont think he is underrated... I hear people talking about him a lot...but maybe since he was drafted in an unbelievable draft, people find that he kinda gets lost in the shuffle a bit?

I love Provorov but ill even admit when discussing the 2015 draft, guys like McDavid, Eichel, Barzal, Marner etc etc etc all come to mind way before Provorov for some reason

The Penguins really exposed Provorov IMO. I think he's quite overrated on HFBoards, he doesn't have the high-end tools to be a top-pairing guy IMO.
