Why didn't we sign Jagr???

I think playoffs contribution in recent years is what made Briere a more attractive choice. Jagr had 0 goals in 22 last season while Briere had 8 in 11 games two years ago. Whether he still has the tools to be as productive remains to be seen so I will wait until the end of the season to judge this signing (still have to make those playoffs).

I was one of those who wanted and still wants Jagr here. There is always trade deadline to bring Jagr if NJ is out of the run (and Habs still in) but I think MB will pass again.
