Why did the Sens ditch these uni's?

Similar to Calgary altering theirs for the worse in 07, I never understood this. Sens pre lockout had one of my favorite sets of uni's in the league to me. All 3 sweaters were great. The whites and black alternates being the best imo. I look at their current uni's and can't believe they opted to go that route. I do like the throwbacks to the old Senators.

i didn't hate it but the black one is way better imo

The black and white jerseys were outdated looking when they switched. The white one jersey is awful.

One thing that's curious about cheap Melnyk is you'd think he would be interested in exploring tons of new jerseys to drive up revenues, but he seems too shortsighted to even do that, relying on those Reebok monstrosities for so long. What gives?

The first and third jersey templates are alright, but that 3D logo is just godawful it ruins everything. The 2D whites and blacks are a nice classic jersey and never should have gone anywhere, hopefully they'll be back someday.
