Halifax probably takes a step back this year. Sure they're getting Drouin back but they will miss MacKinnon a lot I figure.

They're really going to miss Abeltshauser and Fournier when it comes to locking it down, and MacKinnon was the ultimate momentum weapon. No one was better at flipping the script on teams that managed to sustain a bit of pressure in the offensive zone. Those are three pretty big pairs of shoes to fill if they want to try to play the same way as last year.

Domi (1st, 2013) Horvat (1st, 2013) McCarron (1st, 2013)
Broadhurst (7th, 2011) Tierney (2nd, 2012) Anderson (4th, 2012)
M. Rupert (FA) R. Rupert (6th, 2012) Elie (2nd, 2013)
Dvorak (2014) Marner (2015) Platzer (4th, 2013)
Welychka (FA)

Zadorov (1st, 2013) Maatta (1st, 2012)
Mermis (FA) Basso (FA)
Liberati (7th, 2013) Centorame (2014)

Stolarz (2nd , 2012)
Patterson (FA)

Lots of these players have two OHL championships under their belt and therefore have been to two Mem. Cups. They will add one more top 4 d-man and maybe a stud forward.

The fact that London is hosting is a huge advantage as well...already in the final 4 and they have lots of returning guys. I am from Halifax and think London will win it all. But I am happy with seeing Drouin for another year

lots of teams in the Q can stop the Mooseheads lol not to mention the Mem Cup host is stacked before midseason trades.

but in the Q, Rimouski - Blainville-Boisbriand - Chicoutimi all have pretty good teams and there's a few others who could be on the rise.

Halifax isn't near as good as last year.

When London gets Horvat, Domi and Zadorov back they may not even lose 3 games for the rest of the year.

Halifax lost a lot more than just MacKinnon. More than half of our top six forwards are gone from last year, not to mention Konrad Abeltshauser. Even with Drouin, I'd say we're still not the favourite to win the QMJHL title this year.
Drouin can't do everything himself, although I believe he will try.
