Canada today won the 2004 U18 World Junior Cup in convincing fashion. This group of 1987 born players outscored their opposition by a whopping 29 goals for to a mere 7 goals against in 5 games!! Canada posted a 5 and 0 record and easily picked apart the other teams. Team Canada had the Top 5 scorers in the tourney, the best D-man and the Top goalie.

In 2002, the best 1985 born players for Canada cruised to a gold medal finish by destroying the competition, outscoring them 35 - 11 in 5 games. Canada was led at that tourney by Nathan Horton, Mike Richards, Nigel Dawes, Corey Perry, Braydon Coburn, Dion Phaneuf and co.

87's definately have nmore potential.... IMO..
I feel that their top end talent (Crosby, Brule, Cogliano, Lavasseur) is much higher end than the 85's ( Horton, Stewart, Richards, Carter)

just my 2 cents...
