There needs to be an option for neither. Absolutely no resources should be moved on the Daytsuk contract until all trade options for defense have been explored. If there is no defense to be had the best option is to eat the contract. Not saying these guys are not expendable but all cards need to be in play for trading on the biggest need. Without defense we could have McDavid, Crosby and Malkin up front and still first round exit.
