Fun exercise.

Edit: Didn't read correctly, at work saturday, won't be able to do this, sorrily.

Ill try to do the BPA crap but I might not be available... Sucks.

Same here. Will have to do it in retrospect.
For those that won't be able to be there on Saturday, you should only post the best case scenario list whenever you can. BPA would only be at the time of the pick without knowing how the draft pans out.

That doable, but damn there are so many possible picks, and the 20-65 range will be so hard to gauge.

I'll still try it !

Best case scenario:
3. Kotkaniemi
35. Berggren
38. Beaudin
56. Hillis
62. Eriksson
66. Roman
97. Hall
102. Douglas
122. Utunen
128. Chyzowski

3. I think Kotkaniemi is overhyped like crazy. BUT I still think he'll be a quality center in this league, at least I hope he will, and we're so lacking, big skilled C-wise, that like some said, if we take a C, it won't be a reach for us, as it's a big need.

35. Berggren I really don't think will be available at 35, but there's still a possibility, and that would be crazy.

38. Not sure about Beaudin either, but I think the possibilities are higher for him to be there than Berggren at 35, would be a very good pick for us.

56. Hillis, not the biggest, but vision + passing abilities are at the very least top 15 in this draft, probably more.

62. I love the potential of that kid, a big winger who can skate and score ? Very raw, but with 4 2nd rounders...

66. Tricky one, might go way earlier, but his injury may have dropped him in the rankings. No brainer for me, skilled center.

97. Hall isn't a 'skill' guy, but a power one, he's raw, but he does have offensive potential, pure north-south big, strong C, just needs to be more assertive and develop further.

102. Mammoth on skates, but can actually play, good hockey IQ, very responsible in his own zone, reminiscent of Adam Lowry in the way he plays. But yeah, a project, needs work in a couple areas.

122. Utunen is a nice, mobile 2-way LHD, already has a stint in the Liiga this season, not necessarily the most skilled out there, but has a very good hockey IQ to compensate.

128. Love the way he plays, Chyzowski wants to score, he wants to create something in the offensive zone, and will take a hit to make a play.

6 centers, 2 LHD, 2 wingers.

But, well, this draft will be all over the place...

1. Adam Boqvist
35. Akil Thomas
38. Jake Wise (obviously if I knew he'd be around for our late 2nds I'd take him there and Iskhakov here but I'm sticking firmly with BPA and not cheating the system)
56. Bulat Shafigullin (same thing but with Gustafsson)
66. Cam Hillis
71. Blake McLaughlin (SDA right after him)
97. Danila Zhuravlyov
123. Cole Fonstad
128. Nikolai Kovalenko
133. Blade Jenkins
190. Marcus Westfalt

I'm honestly so goddamn angry. He did nothing. He really did nothing at all. Makes a stretch pick and follows up with not a ****ing thing. What a joke... this idiot destroys our entire franchise and then he fails to make a positive move yet again after 6 years.

I would have liked for them to draft O'Brien. They could perhaps have done something for Sandin and AlexSquared, given how close they were to the Habs's earliest 2nd rounder.

What do you have in mind?

forwards with 35th and 38thpick?

I want at least a defenseman in the 2nd round.

Wilde
Woo
Samuelsson
Addison
Ginning
Demin
Ragnarsson

With Alexeyev and Lundkvist gone, I don't see a D man that has value until later. I would go Berggren and Hallander as they are my two highest rated guys. Thomas is right there as well. All three have upsides to be top line players in the NHL which just can't be said for the D left.

I love Ragnarsson too but based on Bob's list. He's a candidate for a mid round pick.

I didn't want K because of his skating and Habs weak at developing centers. But listening to Timmins and he said K is coming off ACL surgery. Explains why I picked up his weak skating. He wasn't fully back to 100% when I seen him. I didnn't know he had surgery last summer

I really feel like people should submit lists before the draft for this sort of thing, but I'm game.

Should have taken Zadina & traded back into 1st round for a C... but even after taking Niemi, still made sense to get back into 1st round.

Was the perfect year to add another 1st, if they don't land at least two top 6/top 4 NHLers with their 2nd round picks, this draft has #fail written all over it.
