I agree. I think Spezza will have a monster year.

And how about the Sedins, I think they may be ready to both eclipse the 60 pont mark this season for the first time. If they cant then I dont know if they will ever break out. They are both going into their 5ht or 6th season and its time for them to show they can both be the players they were projected to be. If they get a good finisher on the right side I think they will do it for sure.

I've seen a ton and then some of the Sedins, even played against them myself.(my team was 2nd overall in the league, Modo were 5th. We lost 21-0... The Sedins only played one game that year at that level. D. Sedin scored 14 goals in the game)

Anyway I can't really get a grip on them. They are pretty big and this year players in the SEL talked about how strong they have become since last time around. Still they have no balance. They will never develop the acceleration that it takes to become extremely good players. But they could still be a force together. All they need to do is develop some balance in the corners.

FLA has a buncha guys who I think could take it to the next level. Stephen Weiss, Vaclav Nedorost, Nathan Horton, Jay Bouwmeester, they all could take it to the next level I think. Nedorost really I think could surprise many. Weiss looks pretty set to be a 15-20 goal, 45 point player at least this season, Bouwmeester may finally raise his game, regardless of his zero points, he scored a TON in the regular season games in chicago, he had as many points as Weiss in his first 10 games in CHI. Horton, even though he was hurt his first season, I think could score 20+ goals easily or even more. He's the wildcard. If he can stay healthy, i think he could score a ton.

Dustin Brown-will maybe get time on the top line if Palffy doesn't re-sign, unlikely but this guy has a terrific shot, great wheels, and goes to the net hard.

Alexander Semin-Showed in the Worlds that he can play with the best, should get consistent top 2 line minutes with the Caps, definitely poised for a breakout year.

Tuomo Ruutu-Can't argue with this selection, put this guy on one of the top two lines and he's a lock for at least 60 points.

From the kings:
Camms - Had most goals in the AHL and second most points with something like 116 pts?
Brown - Was injured all first year and didnt get playing time proved himself in the AHL
Frolov - Led the RSL in PPG or was second ahead of Kovy, Jagr, Datsyuk, etc.... Not saying he will do better then them but i believe he will break 80 pts

Gonna go with the obvious pick, Dainus Zubrus.

Vasicek- He has all the tools to dominate in games.......hopefully this year he shows he can.

Erat- I think he showed a flash of what he can do last season and should improve..........add Legwand to that also.

Afanasenkov- He got great XP learning on a champoinship club, could really break out with some confidence.

Maxim Afinoganov- Hands need to catch up to the feet, but a lot of talent there.

Freddie Sjostrom- He showed he can play in the NHL by putting up some points, I don't see anything but improvement from this player.

Jay Bouwmeester- Should start to show maturity now and start taking a bigger role in FLA.

Those are my choices for breakout years

I been hearing that from Flyer fans since he really killed the Rangers in the 97 playoffs. Zubrus was amazing in that series, too bad he hasn't really played like that since.

Call me crazy, but Pavel Brendl....

wouldn't hold my breath on that one...the lockout hasn't been exactly kind to him

i think he'll stick around in the NHL but i dont' think he'll ever come close to the potential people thought he had

I think a lot of guys people are saying are good picks...ruutu, frolov, i'm also gonna go out and say the big guys from the top of the 2003 draft will step it up this year too...horton and staal.

I was a kid when I first heard of this one... ;-)

Personnaly, I still expect guys like Afinogenov (depending on Satan status), Weinhandl (if refs finally apply the rules, this guy could get more space to skate), Samsonov (not injury prone like Allison, but got badlucky like Alfredsson or Koivu... he will eventually come back to where he was).

Still, I expect next year to be really fun for poolers like me cause players from the 2002 and 2003 draft will now join the elite.

Finally, the specialists from tsn or the forecaster will probably have a hard time doing their predictions... we will finally see if they are trully specialists. ;-)

PM Bouchard, a year in the minors is what the kid needed...

Burns, back in his comfortable position, will look good at defense

A few guys I expect to shine...

Alexander Semin...I am a Caps fan. Semin showed he could handle first line activity and is likely to get lots of power play time. Look for a breakout year.

Jason Spezza...Poised to take his game to the next level. His AHL stats show he is ready for the next level.

Anton Babchuck...A guy likely to stick with Chi who will -play better with better competition.

Ryan Whitney...Soon folks are going to wish they had given this guy some props.

I hope you realized I was being sarcastic. Dainus Zubrus is a fantastic NHL player, but I don't expect him to ever score more than 60 points. I do consider him a 2nd line forward though, because of his great defensive talent. What an incredible skater.

I think Zherdev will dominate with a full season of feeding Nash.

Spezza looks good too, depends on who he's playing with.

And I'm praying Antropov does too.

Gaborik to me seems like a winger, it doesn't matter anyway, I see a lot of Ronning in Bouchard and who the hell has Ronning played with recently? And please don't name me Patric Kellberg and greg Johnson.

Daymond Langkow... while he's not a prospect or anything I think he'll have a monster year playing beside Jarome Iginla.
