Avery in his first stint for the Rangers by a mile.

no, you can't just pick a stint.

Barnaby averaged 0.454 points per game with the Rangers and Avery averaged 0.447 points per game so very close numbers, but Avery probably played with better players and on a better team.

Still Avery for me.

Uhhhh I think everyone is forgetting how... GOOD of a player Avery was too. That 2007 deadline was a huge turning point for this franchise. It set up all the success that was to come the following years.

That team was dead in the water before he came in and scored some huge goals and was totally dominant against the Thrashers and then the Devils a year later.

7 sog in Game 1 against ATL, a goal and an incredible assist on Shanny's GWG in Game 2, 2 assists before getting the boot alongside Kovalchuk in Game 3.

And then completely took over the Devils series alongside Gomez, scored the 3-1 goal in Game 1, the Game 2 winner and by Game 5 the Devils were more concerned with taking his head off than any interest in actually winning the game and we were up 3-1 heading into the 2nd.

this shouldn't a be stats contest. We are judging who got under the other players skins best and knocked them off of their game most consistently. If you think it's Barnaby, make your case in that area. Points should be like < 5% of the scoring here.

looking at this clip, makes me think a good pest constantly goads the opposition into fighting but teases them by not accepting the fight - at least not immediately. So the whole time they are focused on initiating a fight with the pest instead of focused on scoring goals. Barnaby was a chirper but he always answered the bell. That style might be more like a goon than pest but debatable.
