Young Ovechkin might be the most physically gifted player to ever enter this league. Peak Lindros was maybe close. So much fun to watch. Going with him here.

Idk it has gotten so much worse it’s affected a ton of his game. That’s why he barely carries the puck up anymore to enter the zone, he just dumps it in.

It was also a huge part of his possession stats. He was a demon 5 on 5 anywhere (on the boards, neutral zone, tight spaces). He can’t do much of that anymore

I don’t know how your stuck handling can get this bad

It's not that bad, he just can't do it at high speed anymore. C'mon he is 33 years old.

Ovechkin was the more exciting and better player
First 215 games:

McDavid2159110373267

Ovechkin was 20-22, McDavid 18-21, and scoring was higher then. But Ovechkin's goals make it debatable, however Ovechkin from 2007-10 > McDavid now, but not for long.

Ovechkin. I loved watching a young ovie and mike green running around the ice.

I got into ice hockey as a canucks fan the year bure was a rookie and he was my favourite player...and Ovechkin was far more exciting to watch. Ovechkin is easily the most exciting player I've ever watched play from 1991-2018.

I think his stickhandling and skating ability declined earlier and at a more noticeable rate than a majority of superstars just from my own observation, but obviously he is still very good at both even today.

This isn't a fair comparison because the Capitals were a much better built team whos only obstacle was the Penguins. Ovy had so much more talent to work with so he could cherry pick and score more exciting goals.

McDavid has to worry about trying to carry the rest of his pathetic team to try and get some wins let alone play exciting hockey.

I vote McDavid. Ovy has by far the best shot I've ever seen, but McDavid is a ****ing wizard.

The first few seasons Ovi was in the league the Capitals were horrible...
