Not unless there's a reason to.

If EP as C is their vision - i would wait a year to name a captain or name some older guy captain who its easier to strip the C from than Horvat.

Horvat seems like the best choice, I dont think Pettersson is ready to be take on that responsibility. I could see it being a similar situation as Colorado where Landeskog is the captain even though Mackinnon is the best player.

Best player doesn't have to be captain. Horvat would seem like the right choice to me. He has to be one of the longest serving Canucks at this point besides Edler?

Imo EP isn't exactly like the type of guy that's screams Captain material, Bo definitely seems the type though.

This coming from a guy who doesn't know much about EP's personality, or his locker room presence.
