Ruff..with AV as an assistant..damn what a nightmare
bring in sutter for all I care lol
I think at this point Steve has seen that the old guard of coaches like Ruff just aren't surviving anymore.
Sutter has been coaching heavy hockey for a long time.
The AHL Finals are on NHL Network, so you all can see Keefe hockey firsthand.
Calder Cup Finals to air on TSN2, NHL Network | TheAHL.com | The American Hockey League
Replacing Bowness should be a start.
If you want to believe the Friedman tweet, it seems like Bowness isn't coming back.
That's every piece of Cooper's staff who's been replaced, at least once.
Yep every one but cooper lol does cooper have dirt on yzerman ? How does everyone get replaced on coopers staff once and he is still here ?
Coaches change there systems and coaching based on the players they have sutter always coached big teams because that’s the players he was given
Steve Yzerman takes over as coach and GM.
I think there's too much to do.
Well there is still plenty of time. Not saying Yzerman will fire Cooper this off season but if he is then there is still loads of time for it to happen. But I don't think Yzerman fires Cooper unless he finds someone that he believes is a clear upgrade.
At this point I think yzerman is giving cooper another season to see what he can do.Is stupid to replace all the other coaches and not cooper also! Say you fired cooper after next season the new coach would want to hire his own assistants not the new ones cooper brought in
Well, the one thing to be said for Coop is, he didn't have a say in his initial staff. We've gradually been moving more toward "Cooper's staff," from the staff Yzerman handed to him. So I mean, all we can do is hope for the best. I'm not a Cooper supporter, but I want the guy to succeed for the sake of the team.
I was being sarcastic.
for sure I want the lightning to win a stanley cup and I want cooper to win but I just don't see it with cooper as HC.
You could be right. I just think our team gets too soft late in the playoffs when the whistles get put away. Or they arent big enough to fight through it. I think my problem with Coop has more to do with the effort in those last couple of games. We werent going to the net, we werent moving our legs. When we do those things we are really tough to beat. We did this vs Boston and we won in 5 games. I dont know why we couldnt do it vs the Caps.
plus if you asked me or most people before the playoffs we all thought boston was better then the Caps by far.
When the heavy teams are allowed to really run wild on the light teams, it seems to have a discouraging effect.
Bring back Gordie Dwyer to the Bolts. Has HC experience now in the KHL and Swiss Elite league
I think the Caps were just bigger and could match our speed and intensity. So we were not a good match up for the Caps. The Bruins were not an overly physical team compared to their older ones. They werent as fast as we were either. Basically we ended up being a much better match up against them than many thought. Than I thought. We all thought this would be the big bad Bruins but they were not. I think even though this was not the best Caps team on paper that weve seen in recent years there was a big difference in how they played. They skated hard and fast. They were relentless. With that kind of size, speed, and skill it was just too much for our team in a long series. I thought our effort was poor in those last couple of games but I also credit the Caps and how they took advantage of the kind of team they have.
He's won one playoff round since making the move up to major junior in 2011-12, and he's never been above .500 in Europe. Maybe that's slightly unfair as the KHL is a bit wacky, but based on wins, I don't see it.
I don't know if he knows English, but 38 year-old Sam Hallam is the two-time reigning coach of the year in the SHL for the Vaxjo Lakers. I've got to figure there's more upside there, if we're talking about Euro league candidates.
Serge Aubin, Mark French, Greg Ireland (NLA) and Libor Zabransky in the Czech Extraliga have NA experience, however.
Wasn't disappointed in them when they lost a hard fought game 7 in 2011, same thing in 2016, but this years loss was pathetic, that 3rd period has to be one of the most embarrassing levels of play from this franchise.
replace cooper already "Marlies coach Sheldon Keefe said. ""That just showed how resilient we were as a team and how competitive we are. And just the fact that we weren't going to be denied."
