Foudy? Yes hes young and small but he sure looks like he fits during preseason

Davidsson? I like how he looks but think another year of development will help him.

Stenlund? I think hes looked great so far. People say he needs to improve i think he makes our pp way better. Would rather him then milano

    Lets hear your thoughts guys

    My lines

    Panarin Dubois atkinson
    Wennberg nash Anderson
    Jenner stenlund bjorkstrand
    Foligno dubinsky Milano
    Sedlak

I for one would like some major changes. Move nash up and have stenlund feeding two goal scores our fourth line will be really good.

    Doobwah is my longshot pick.

Kid had a pretty underwhelming rookie season but I think he has tremendous potential. While he isn’t a lock to make the team, I think he’ll give Riley Nash a run for his money for that 4C spot.

    Just my 2 cents.

I can't lie, I've been thinking about how to work Stenlund in. Duclair is likely ahead of Milano at this point, btw. And I'm not a fan of moving Wennberg to wing, or putting Stenlund on the wing. It's tricky.

I'm not so sure that Dubinsky keeps his job. Perhaps the most likely scenario is that Stenlund gets sent down at the beginning while Dubinsky gets a chance to play. If he doesn't return to form he'll be scratched for Stenlund. Or Stenlund will get put on the wing if someone else underperforms.

I didn't see the game but it sounds like Duclair & Stenlund did very well. I wouldn't call Duclair a surprise to make it so it sounds like Stenlund is the top candidate. As I said the other day I think the Jackets may very well go wiyh 13 F's for most of the season so guys like Stenlund can get lots of ice time in Cleveland with an easy call up route if needed. Maybe he stays up for a look early and then is sent down.

I just don't see Dubi being press boxed unless he really plays poorly.

Don't forget Dubi can play wing too.

So maybe a 4th of Dubi-Stenlund-Duclair with Stenlund and Duclair getting some PP time.

Foudy was more impressive than Stenlund, but I can't see Foudy on the opening day roster

Stenlund has played much better than Wennberg. Wennberg has played the last 2 games , in typical fashion, of not even registering a shot on goal. In all honesty though , I’d put Wennberg on that 4th line, and Dubi a scratch . See if you can light a fire under Wennberg ass. Stenlund has points in every game he’s played but 1. Duclair should be in your lineup

If Brandon Dubinsky spends the majority of the season as the 4C, I would guess he would be bought out at the end of the year.

    (A) Kevin Stenlund, or Sam Vigneault, or Alex Texier, or Liam Foudy will emerge next year.
    (B) You can't be paying your 4th line center 5.75 million each season.

And if his wrist is truly back to being healthy he can win a face-off which nobody else can do except for Riley Nash.

Maybe he gets his 9 games and then back to juniors?

If it's between Stenlund and Foudy, I'd bet they keep Foudy for those 9 games and give Stenlund the ice time in Cleveland. Then send Foudy back and make Stenlund the first call-up.

With Murray out, I think Prapavessis has a chance of making the roster. Kid has really made some noise this pre-season. Is likely a year away from full-time duty but he's got NHL potential. Great pickup by our FO.

Sidenote – Maybe a bit of a reach but I always think of Vegas Vacation when I hear Prapavessis

Who would have thought people would be talking about Foudy making the team... That being said, I'm not one of those people. It's great that he's looked like he belongs, but he needs to go dominate juniors for a year. Stenlund though, I think could make the team. He looks pretty damn good, better than I expected. All that being said, regardless of whether or not he bounces back, I think this is probably Dubi's last year here. We have too many up and coming centers to give him a spot at his price after this year. If Stenlund plays well enough this year, here or in Cleveland, maybe it makes Wennberg a trade piece for a pseudo-Panarin replacement?

    Panarin-Dubois-Atkinson
    Jenner-Wennberg-Bjorkstrand
    Foligno-Nash-Anderson
    Duclair-Stenlund/Dubi-Milano

Next year I think room will need to be made for:
    -Stenlund (100%)
    -Abramov (80%)
    -Davidsson (80%)
    -Texier (40%)
    -Foudy (25%)
    -Gavrikov (80%)
    -Elvis (hopefully 100%)

Assuming just Stenlund, Abramov, Davidsson, and Gavrikov get spots next year, that means 3 forwards and a defenseman become expendable. Dubi will be bought out, which still leaves 2 forwards and one defenseman to use as trade chips. Regardless, I have a feeling this could be a wildly different roster next year, with or without Panarin. We might not be as good as we can be this year, but it's still pretty exciting to me to have all of these young guys on the verge of cracking the lineup.

Prapavessis was just sent to Cleveland. Anyways, I think his only shot was if we were missing a couple PP D-men. That's where he adds value. 5v5 he is on the slow side.

    Hot take.

Korpisalo is traded, Kivlenieks is the backup this season.

Next season Bobrovsky is gone and Elvis comes over.

Next season you have Latvian duo in the net and Latvians take over Columbus and most of the newly born children are named Elvis across Columbus.

    Hot take.

I think only Stenlund has a real chance to crack the roster, but that's not likely. The forward spots were kind of locked up.

Due to the injuries on D, Carlsson will likely make it, if that counts.

Clendening will be with the CBJ nearly the entire year.

Starts the year as a 4-5, is the 6-7 when healthy.

Silver lining with the injuries, your prediction of him on the opening night roster looks assured! Congrats.

Yeah, I don't think there's anyone who's going to truly surprise this year. We'll have some new faces on D while guys heal up but I don't think anyone who wasn't on the roster last year cracks this lineup when it's healthy.

Stenlund has certainly looked like one of the 12 best fowards during camp and preseason. He can also go to Cleveland freely and develop. But he looks like he would help the team right now.
