1. Nobody knew Seabrook would actually put out in his contract year and hustle for the big bucks contract
.going from -3 to his best 0lus/minus of his career at plus 40.

2. Nobody knew Panarin would score 101 points

.most expected just 72.

3 Nobody knew Toews was "serious" about winning another one this season...has his best season ever.

4.Nobody knew Rundblad +15 was not a mirage
.most thought it was
.So when he goes +28 it shocks them

5.Nobody knew the tandem of Darling and Pavelic would be so successful.in.leading the Hawks to their best all time regular season points in the standing ( because most expected Crawford would be here instead of being traded to WPG for cap relief.

6. Nobody expected Anisimov would be the missing link as the 2C relieving all the pressure off Toews and how structurally this made the Hawks tougher than ever to beat.

7. Nobody expected Bryan Bickell to bounce back to his best year ever

.because they thought he would get traded..but he is kept once Crawford's Reade clears cap space and responds with a 28 goal season.

8..Nobody expected Patrick Kane on an. 82 game mission.
Because some thought he would be charged and suspended pending trial. outcome.
But the case is dropped as the DA.. realizes he cannot prove guilt and has a certain loser case if he goes to trial.
ONCE thw investigation is droppe* Kane removes all clouds hanging over him an goes on a mission working his tail off for the entire season and on every period, producing his best year ever and his best plus / minus season.

9. Nobody thought the Hawks would not be bored again by the regular season .Cup hangover..
short summer..Tired.

Lots of hockey the past 6 years. ECUSES galore...except Nobody thought that the Hawks would ignore all the excuses. ..would go on a mission all year.

10. McDavid surprised
..by not being The Messiah..
..so EDM fails to be the surprise team...Nope
..Hawks win that hands down

... and to join in the fun ...

Hawks win the Presidents Trophy going 58-16-8 (124 points).
Darling and Pavelec win the Jennings when the Hawks give up only 1.8 GA/g.
Q wins the Jack Adams.
Toews wins the Hart, Selke and repeats the Messier.
Kane wins the Ross and Lady Byng.
Panarin wins the Calder and Richard.
Keith wins the Norris and repeats as Conn Smythe winner.

The Hawks go 16-0 in the playoffs beating Dallas in the 1st round (too bad Sharpie and Oduya), St. Louis in the 2nd round (outscoring them 20-2), and then stomp out L.A.'s dream of 3 in 5 years by blitzing them 3-0, 4-0, 5-0 & 7-0. They then face Detroit in the SCF and so thoroughly embarrass them that Datzyuk and Zetterberg announce their retirement in the post game interview.

Than Kane gets drunk and throws up on Rocky at the Cup parade and he's traded to Arizona the next day for their first round draft pick which ends up being #1 overall and the Hawks draft Matthews.

Ahhh ... is good to be a Hawks fan

My take: Fitty doesn't expect a lot from this season.

Funny post, 50...even if it was in jest.

Thanks Fiddy that was awesome!
Personally with 3 cups now in 6 years and some bright new faces coming into the lineup like Panarin and
Dano I am super excited and content about the state of the Hawks.
The Kane situation will sort itself out one way or another.

Kane has singlehandey killed my excitement for this season.

Agreed. This has to be one of the worst offseasons ever after winning a Cup. Trading Saad, Sharp, Johns, and Paliotta. Not getting Reilly and not moving Bickell. And the worst part is a disturbing rape allegation against one of the team's best players thus humiliating the team. You can say he hasn't been charged and we don't know what happened but the whole thing is embarrassing. And the way some Hawk fans have been acting on social media has been sickening. It's really taken away some of my love of the Hawks.

I haven't had one single conversation about this upcoming season since the news broke of Kane.
