Both could play this season and I'll go with the right D that could become a regular over the next few years as the vets move on. More valuable position by far.

My ranking

1. Frost, Morgan - should be behind Brink
2. Brink, Bobby - skating was the primary issue, off the chart offensive skills
3. York, Cam
4. Zamula, Yegor
5. Friedman, Mark - way too high, he's 23 and can't beat out Hagg
6. Lacynski, Tanner
7. Cates, Noah -
8. Millman, Mason
9. Vorobyev, Mikhail - too high, 3 shots and can't crack the roster.
10. O'Brien, Jay
11. Ratcliffe, Isaac
12. Hogberg, Linus
12. Kalynuk, Wyatt
13. Allison, Wade - too low, once the knee got healthy, he got his mojo back
14. Strome, Matthew - shouldn't even be considered a prospect
15. Kase, David
16. Rubtsov, German

Is Bunnaman considered graduated? Otherwise he's ahead of Vorobyev.
Twarynski held his own at LW in the NHL at 21 (struggled at RW, which is to be expected)
Sushko had a nice rookie AHL season at 20
Wylie should be in the top 20, along with Lycksell, and Attard not that far behind, he's a project but has the tools.

Just for fun, let's shame all the guys who didn't vote for NAK. :naughty:

I'd still vote for Friedman. We need him. Braun & Niskanen are old. Friedman looks very good. Despite playing on a train wreck of a team.

I say hoard all the right-handed defensemen like toilet paper and hand sanitizer. :sarcasm:

I like Friedman as a potential 3rd pair RHD, that can fill-in in a pinch paired with Provorov or Sanheim in the top 4, but approaching 25 with 7 NHL games under his belt with a ceiling that was already kind of limited...it'd be tough for me to take him over a toolsy bottom 6er who has already shown to be an effective NHLer. We'll see how NHL coaches value a sub 5'10 "defensive" defenseman.

They aren't totally dissimilar though. I've said before Friedman is the defensive version of NAK. Both tremendous skaters. Stocky. Stout. Skilled enough to drive play, but not enough to light up the scoreboard.
