Who is the Best Sabre to Ever Wear the # 17?

I figured with the hockey summer doldrums upon us, I'd run a poll each day on who people think is the best Sabre to ever wear a particular number.

There are 21 players who wore #17 at least once. But to narrow it down, I'm only going to consider those who wore the number at least a full season for a reasonable number of games. Sorry Bob Richer, John Gould, Todd Simon, Craig Simpson, Dominic Moore, Raffi Torres, and Linus Omark.

Only consider how that player played while with the Sabres - so, not their NHL career in general.

I'll stick to the main numbers for which players are known.

Liked Duds a lot. Him jumping to the WHA for big bucks had a lot to do with the 70's Sabres not reaching the Cup finals those next few years.

My one memory of Colin Patterson was that he was kind of slow on NHL '94 so I would make a point to always try to score on my friend with Patterson just to tick him off. And I did.

What did Gragnani do? He was a total disappointment following that crazy end of the year when first broke into the league, but I don't remember him being someone I'd even root against compared to some of the people that came through the Sabres org.
