Some Jim Corsi background.

Jim Corsi and Bernie Wolfe were two very pedestrian Montreal area minor hockey goaltenders, not major junior or Jr A quality, who were given NHL/WHA opportunities via Concordia University by a great Canadian University coach Paul Arsenault.

Jim Corsi's epiphany about "actions" happened in Europe. Guess he wasn't paying attention in university since what he defines as "actions" are a sub division of "offensive attacks" - crossing the defensive blueline in possession of the puck. Limit the number of "offensive attacks" and you limit "actions" significantly( one "offensive attack" has the potential for multiple "actions"). Transition the puck out of the defensive zone in any fashion and you limit "actions".

This was fundemental to Montreal hockey going back to Blake(Plante and Harvey), thru Bowman and is still around - evidenced by the Devils and Martin Brodeur passing thru Bernie Parent, the CoJean hockey school.
