Suppose the league added Vegas next year. Suppose they also informed each club that they had to tender not a PROTECTED, but an UNPROTECTED list of players, lets say 5 per team.

What are the top two roster players on your club whom you feel the respective clubs would expose?

You'd put Lupul instead of Ashton and even Winnik or Booth?

Absolutely.

two reasons:

1. Cap hit VS production
2. The emergence of younger high end talent

Essentially, its a free buyout opportunity. Lupul has yet to play a full season. Ashton costs ypou nothing. Winnick is the kind of player the Leafs have been after for years. He's a fantastic utility piece. He needs to be re-signed. Booth is on a 1 year deal.

Thompson is great 4th line center. Bourque instead!

I like Stoner, I'd dump Fistric. I don't think Murray regrets Stoner's contract the way some fans do.
