Ducks. They have a top 5 goalie in hockey, there own first round pick and some good talent waiting. They get some lottery luck and a good coach and it could be a relatively quick turnaround.

Ducks, I can't imagine the Sens making it for a while. They keep losing top talent in their prime.

When Chabot is due for a big extension, he will likely be gone as well. Ducks have a great goalie, some good pieces, they draft well. They could be back in it in 2 years or less.

Anaheim could still hypothetically make it this year

Ottawa seems out for a few years at least

Ducks. They have some great pieces with another one coming at the draft.

If Ottawa can get good returns on Duchene and Stone, things might change. But if not, I don't see a lot to like there outside of Chabot and Tkachuk.

Pretty much this for me.

Great top 4 D as well, just some really hard times this season for both southern Cali teams.

Ottawa. Carlyle seems to have some serious dirt on the owner and GM, doesnt matter how good some of the players are. Cant win in that type of environment. Melnyk sucks but hes at least kept away from the room

Take it from an Oiler fan.

The Ducks had 101 points last year. They weren’t as good as that number suggested but they also aren’t as bad as they have been this season.

Ottawa was legitimately terrible last year and lost their best player. They’re legitimately terrible this year and they’re about to lose 2 of their 3 best players.

This could go either way but as of now, the smart pick is Anaheim.

Carlyle is gone in the summer if not before. You can fire a coach u cant fire an owner.

Maybe he's already done enough damage. We've had billions of threads about how the Oilers culture of losing has ruined the org. That's exactly what's starting to happen in Ana. Just a matter of whether or not ottawa keeps any of their UFA.

If the coach sticks around all year, do you think the GM should lose his job too? Hes publicly backed the guy multiple times

Edit - And there he goes. Cant believe it took so long.... not going to change my vote because that would be disingenuous, but it's probably Ana now
