Not impossible, but chances are he start in the ECHL. It all depends on Lindgren and if we hire a vet backup.

Sure would. Jake Allen is a perfect fit. Kind of a 1B goaltender, who could play 30 games. He's also used to Montréal because he played his junior here. It's a lot of money tied to the goaltending but what else are we gonna use our money on next year? Might as well solve this and get the best out of a fresh, healthy Carey Price.

Plus yeah, of course, Vince Dunn. Perfect partner for Petry.

Plus, If the Habs have another bad year next year and are out of the playoffs at the deadline, we can flip Allen (with retention) to a team that may be looking for a goalie. You never know how it turns out but gives us options.

Probably have to make that deal on draft day though so if this is the cap space move we feel is the best return (dealing with cap hell teams)... then you pull the trigger on draft day. Pretty sure teams that have cap issues will want to make moves before free agency.
