Nice list, wouldn't include Sedin though.

Even when he's a PPG+ he just feels like a low impact player. Would replace him with Getzlaf.

  3. Duchene lol..?

I agree with 9 of the top 10

Don't think Duchene is top 10 yet. I have MSL instead

I've watched 5 avalanche games this season and his skating and shot are amazing... he looks like Crosby volume 2 right now. I no it's a small sample size but it's not like he's a no named guy he's been a star for a couple years now

Honestly its so difficult to pin point a top 10.

Duchene is an amazing player though to the guy who said he isnt top 10 material.

Don't think hes been a star for a couple of years now. If you look at it statistically, in 11-12, he had 28 points in 58 games

He has risen his level of play lately though. Give it time

Think the list needs more Giroux...at the very least as an honorable mention imo..

There's a universal list with some others being debatable.

    Crosby
    Malkin
    Ovechkin
    Stamkos
    Toews
    Datsyuk

Nothing to lol about. This guy can be a one man cycling machine. His offense is elite. I haven't seen him play a lot to comment on his defensive game. Maybe that's his weakness? Not sure.

    Agreed.

Beside the fact that Kane had a quicker start to his career, I don't see how he is any better than Kessel.

Duchene doesn't belong on that list. (Yet, anyhow.)

Ya I think there is a definite top 5-6 and the others could be one of about 12 players.

Kessel is a top 10 scorer but even as a Leaf fan I'd have him out of the top 10. Probably in the 15-20 range

You can make strong arguments for many players. What has Duchene done that kessel hasn't?

    He’s younger, he’s not a leaf, and he’s Canadian.

And obviously I don’t think Duchene is “better” than Kessel

Tavares is overated he has done nothing more than Kessel in all areas. If you consider Tavares top 10 you have to consider Kessel. Sheesh had to listen to the Carolina broadcast and their announcers commented that Kessel was the number 2 or 3 sniper in the league while skating get at full speed.

    Ovechkin - Crosby - Malkin
    Stampkos - Datsyuk - MSL
    Tavares - Toewes - Kessel/zetteberg
    Perry - Getzlaf - Couture

I've been saying this for a while now.

In the past 4 years, Kessel has produced 64, 82, 52 and now 14 points.

In the past 4 years, Tavares has produced 67, 81, 47 and now 13 points.

    Where is the separation?

    This.
Kessel has more points this season, over the last 2 seasons, over the last 3 seasons and over the last 4 seasons.

Yet according to HF Kane is a top 10 players and Kessel isn't even top 20.

If we're talking stats only, Kessel is in the top 10 for sure.
