How I became a fan: As a boy the two best teams were the Bruins and Miami Dolphins and I’ve stuck with both ever since. Bobby Orr sealed it and it was reinforced by my Dad…”If you wanna skate fast like Bobby Orr, you have to eat vegetables”, “If you wanna be like Bobby Orr, you have to….” Etc. His attempt to make me cheer for the local team failed miserably when he took me to my first Leaf’s game in 1973 and they lost 8-1 to the Red Wings.

Most memorable Bruins moments: 1. I was literally sick May 10, 1979 after the Too many men penalty and subsequent goal. 2. While posted in Germany, I barely made it to roll call in time up all night May 15, 1990 watching the game ended in triple OT by a well rested Petr Klima. 3. Was at the game and furious on Jan 3, 1996 when Kasper benched Neely and Stevens.
4. Was disappointed on Nov 16, 1996 when a bus load of us went to see the Bruins in Buffalo only to be told by a waitress serving us our pre-game Buffalo wings that the Jumbotron had fallen and the game was cancelled. 5. On a more positive note, I was in Montreal on April 19, 2008 watching GSP regain his UFC title and then got home to watch the recording of that night’s glorious game 6….oh that Marco Sturm! What a game! 6. Next of course the 2011 Stanley Cup. 7. Finally, on May 13, 2013 I had given up hope and shaved off my playoff beard halfway into the 3rd period seconds before Horton started the incredible Game 7 comeback vs the Leafs.
